Our Sustainable Development Initiatives

Plastic Reduction

Wahl UK revamped its packaging, cutting down single-use plastic by 14% between 2017 and 2020.

Energy Efficiency

In 2019, Wahl Netherlands implemented LED lighting, leading to an 11% decrease in electricity consumption over the following years.

Smart Energy Management

In 2022, Wahl Lister cut its energy usage in half by installing motion sensor lighting and ensuring equipment, machines, and computers were powered down overnight.

Battery Recycling

Over 47,000 pounds of batteries were recycled globally between 2020 and 2022. 

Charitable Recycling

Crisp packets are recycled, with proceeds supporting charitable causes.

Electrical Waste Recycling

98.91% of electrical waste is recycled. Returned products undergo a structured recycling process : 

  • Items are disassembled, cleaned, and restored for resale as exchange or refurbished products.
  • Non-reusable components are sent to a local recycling center.
  • Reusable parts, such as blades, are recovered and repurposed.

Our New Facility Sustainable Impact

Energy efficiency

  1. The addition of a new factory and office building has significantly improved our environmental footprint.
  2. Thanks to LED lighting and strategically placed windows, including roof windows in the production area, our annual energy savings could power 147 households for an entire year (based on the European average of 4,500 kWh per household).

Water conservation

  1. The installation of modern low-flush toilets and water-saving faucets with automatic shut-off has led to substantial water savings.
  2. Our annual water conservation is equivalent to the daily drinking water needs of 190,000 people (based on an average intake of 2L per person).

Heating optimization

  1. With high-quality insulation materials and heat recovery from production processes, we achieve remarkable heating efficiency.
  2. Our annual heating savings amount to the equivalent energy consumption of 2,845 households (based on heating pump energy use).
